Devotions #38
Praise the Lord! You may have heard the phrase God doesn’t call the equipped – he equips the called. I pray this truth encourages us. Throughout this Journey with Jesus tasks will be assigned that you feel inadequate for. But I can say with confidence that God will give you what you need when you need it. So my brothers and sisters I encourage you to continue to Step up and Step Forward in Christ.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5) because despite our inadequacy he equips us (Exodus 4:10-11) and remember God is with you always (Matthew 28:20).
Devotions #36
Loving God and Loving People gives us purpose and meaning for our lives. My pray is that our doing for God flows out of our being with him. Romans 15:13. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Remember wherever you are and however you may feel God is with you.
Devotions #35
Psalms 100: 1-5
Shout to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.
Devotions #34
Celebrating and reflecting again on what the resurrection of Jesus means. Hallelujah! John 11:25-26 Jesus says .. I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this? I pray that our answer to this question is Yes and that we choose each day to live in the power of Christ’s resurrection because Christ lives there is nothing that we cannot overcome!
Devotions #33
Psalms 62:1-2 Truly my soul silently waits for God; From him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense I shall not be greatly moved.
Encouraging us all today of the rest and strength that comes from God. Whatever situations you are facing I pray that you will rest in him. He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus. Amen!
Devotions #32
Loving God and appreciating him as the source of rest, strength and peace. I pray that you will experience Christ’s rest so that your mind, soul and body is renewed. The Message Bible puts it like this in Matthew 11:28-30. Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me and watch how I’ll do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and learn to live freely and lightly. Let’s take up Christ’s invitation!
Devotions #31
Encouraging us all as we refocus on evangelism and discipleship that this is the way we make Christ known. So let’s use our gifts to promote Christ.
Romans 12:7-8 (NLT) If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
How will you make Christ known?
Devotions #30
As we continue to Love God and Love People as we love ourselves the Holy Spirit guides us to the need of a transformed mindset (Romans 12:1-2) which leads us to share Jesus’ perspective of humility and obedience (Philippians 2:5-8) compassion (Matthew 9:36) and prayerful dependence on God (Luke 5:16).
I pray that the God of all hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him so that you may overflow with hope as you trust in him. (Romans 15:13)
Devotions #29
John 13:34-35 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. Encouraging us all to continue to pray and listen to the Holy Spirit.
